Kennel Clubs Accredited Breeders Scheme
We here at Eskgyle believe that an accredited breeders scheme should be just that ACCREDITED unfortunately the KC's scheme is not when all you have to do to join this scheme is pay £15 per year where is the accredit in that the KC continue to register any and all GSDs, even when the parents of puppies put forward for KC registration are from known, proven epileptic and haemophilic lines, without any test at all on hips and elbows etc.
We at Eskgyle believe this is the biggest threat to the Health and Welfare of the GSD in the UK today ,in the KC's scheme you do not have to health test your breeding stock you can breed to colours that are undesirable such as white's blue's liver's etc these are major faults in the FCI GSD breed standard you can breed from dogs known to be epileptic or haemophiliac's or carriers of these diseases, dogs or bitches with hip/elbow scores that are horrendous so until the KC restrict the breeding of dogs with all the above from there scheme Eskgyle German Shepherds will not be joining
